OBJECTIVES OF THE COALITION To assure the continuation of dual chartering by cooperating with state and national credit union groups dedicated to maintaining the federal/state option; To assure that state and federal legislators, regulators and share insurers are informed on matters affecting Texas credit unions; To provide advice, recommendations and testimony in support of legislation or regulations deemed necessary to the development of state chartered credit unions; To seek modification to or defeat legislation or regulations not in the best interest of state chartered credit unions; To oppose the consolidation of the Texas Credit Union Department, the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund or the National Credit Union Administration into any other state/federal or organization; To propose, support and/or influence legislation deemed in the best interest of credit union members, the citizens of Texas or public policy.
